At Amber
Job, we love sharing the stories of students who take their first steps into
the international hospitality industry. Today, we’re highlighting Aleksandra
from Poland, who completed her Erasmus+ internship in Corfu, Greece.
As a student of tourism and recreation, I had the opportunity to do my internship abroad on the island Corfu in Greece. I worked there as a waitress in Atlantica Nissaki Beach Hotel. I was there for 3 months. It was definitely my most memorable experience and I learned a lot there. I worked every day during the lunch shift and in the evenings at an ala carte restaurant. My responsibility was to take orders, serve guests, and establish good relationships with them. Thanks to this job I learned how to adapt to the guest's needs and how to work under time pressure. This internship also improved my English language skills and communication. On Wednesdays I used to go and explore Corfu island, which offers stunning natural landscapes, historic monuments, and the crystal-clear Ionian Sea. I recommend this practice to everyone.
